Intervention Specialist/Instructor

Completion of BS/BA education degree in education of the handicapped or equivalent leading to appropriate ODE licensure – Intervention Specialist (K-12) – Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Intensive.
Must be able to bend, stoop, lift and transfer a minimum of 50 pounds (or more) with no restriction. Must be able to be physically active throughout the work day. Required to maintain valid Ohio driver’s license and be insurable. Willing to undergo physical examination, TB test, BCI/FBI checks, complete course in communicable disease, First Aid/CPR, recognition of abuse/neglect and maintain current certificates in these areas.


Develops and implements educational programs for Developmentally Disabled school population within the classroom environment, home or other natural setting. Supervision of students. Supervision and direction of Classroom Aides. Assists in all areas of self help skills to include personal hygiene, changing/diapering, feeding.
Occasional Home visits as necessary.

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with training, education, and experience.
Based on JCBDD salary schedule.
